The Labour Party Youth Wing declared on Thursday that it will win the next March 18 gubernatorial and house of assembly elections in the states of Lagos, Rivers, and Edo as well as other South-South and South-East states.
This was stated at a news conference about the elections on March 18 by Mr. Kennedy Ahanotu, the acting national youth leader of the Labour Party.
The nationwide elections for state Houses of Assembly and governorships, according to Ahanotu, “will give us another opportunity to identify true obidients.”
He stressed the significance of keeping in mind that the Labour Party is not allied with any other party in this election and supports all of its candidates.
“In the last election, they said we are four persons tweeting in a room, but to their shock we took over the space and despite all the fraud they allocated over six million votes to us even when they claim that Obidients are not more than 15 million people having PVCs to vote.
“We must protest by coming out en masse to cast our notes for the Labour Party governorship candidates and House of Assembly Candidates.
“This simple assignment is the first step in telling the world that Labor Party won the election.
“Let us show the opposition that we are resolute in the project of taking back our country. We must capture Lagos, Edo, Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Rivers, Abia, Anambra, in fact, we will capture all the South-South and South-East states.”
Young people, security personnel, and INEC employees were also urged by Ahanotu to stop serving as ready tools in the hands of politicians and to challenge the status quo.
“Do not join in oppressing and intimidating our Youths. The life and future of Nigerian Youths matter. Enough is Enough,” he warned.
On election day, Ahanotu urged voters to put aside their own interests in favour of making a political statement.
