Golden State defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 125-116 on Saturday night in San Francisco thanks to Stephen Curry, who scored 20 of his game-high 36 points in the final 1:51 of regulation and overtime.
After Joe Ingles’ 3-pointer for the Bucks with 2:05 left in the game, Curry took control. The Warriors were down 108-100. After virtually single-handedly bringing the game into OT, he sandwiched two Klay Thompson baskets with two and three pointers of his own, giving Golden State a lead they wouldn’t give up. Curry added an interior basket and two free throws later to seal Golden State’s seventh consecutive victory at home.
The Warriors, who salvaged a split with the top team in the Eastern Conference in their two-game season series, concluded the game with Donte DiVincenzo scoring 20, Klay Thompson scoring 22, and JaMychal Green scoring a season-high 18.
For Milwaukee, which was looking for its third straight victory after Giannis Antetokounmpo was forced to leave the lineup due to an injured right hand, Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton both scored 19 points in a balanced attack.
After defeating Phoenix on the road, Sacramento advanced one step closer to being a playoff-caliber squad thanks to Harrison Barnes’ 19 points.
Sacramento won for the eighth time in the previous nine games thanks to the combined 18 points from De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk.
