I’m no mole for Tinubu, Jandor declares

Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (a.k.a. Jandor), the PDP Governorship Candidate for Lagos State, claims he is not a mole for the APC and is committed to terminating the party’s dominance in the state.

Adediran stated this in a Lagos interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He responded to allegations that he was installed in the PDP by the APC, which has ruled Lagos State since 1999.

A former APC chieftain and former head of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, Adediran, is also alleged to be close to APC Presidential Candidate Chief Bola Tinubu.

He told NAN that it would be absurd for him to be APC’s mole in PDP while causing ‘headaches’ for APC in his efforts.

Adediran noted that despite being a member of the APC for numerous years till January 2022, he had not met with Tinubu, the state’s previous governor.

The candidate said: “It might be difficult for anybody to believe that I have never had a one-on-one meeting with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“I have not set my feet on his Bourdillon house. Yes, I was coming from APC, but I have never been elected nor appointed.

“I have only been a consultant on that corridor.”

On the consequences of the PDP’s national crisis, Adediran stated that the party has no problems both at the national and state levels that may influence its fortunes in the 2023 elections.

He stated that the G-5 PDP governors were still key partners in the party.

Adediran said: “For those who can take time to do a thorough diagnosis of the situation that is happening within the PDP, we know that PDP has no problem either at the national level or at the state level.

“None of the aggrieved governors is telling party members in there respective states to do otherwise on election day.

“They are major stakeholders in PDP business in their respective states.”

Insinuations that Adediran’s candidature was opposed by Chief Olabode George, a former PDP National Deputy Chairman and PDP veteran in Lagos State, were likewise dismissed as incorrect.
