Blessing Mejulu, 50, was accused of drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Two counts of alleged trafficking in Cannabis sativa and methamphetamine are brought against the suspect.
According to the prosecutor, Mr. Lambert Nor, the offence was committed on November 13 at Oko-Olowo Beach in the Eleko neighbourhood of Lagos. The charge is titled Fhc/L/657c/22.
According to the prosecution, the suspect illegally transported 33.4 kg of methamphetamine and 4.8 kg of hemp, often known as cannabis.
According to him, both compounds are listed under the NDLEA schedule as illegal drugs that are similar to cocaine, heroin, or other psychotropic substances that are subject to legal restrictions.
