Bayelsa Queens play AS FAR on Wednesday in CAF Champions semis

On Sunday, in their final Group B match of the 2018 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco, Bayelsa Queens defeated Wadi Degla 3-0.

With six points from three games, the Nigerian squad with its home base in Yenagoa won its group and qualified for Wednesday’s semi-finals.

Juliet Sunday’s spectacular shot past goalie Farah Hassan gave the Nigerian team the lead seven minutes into the game on Sunday at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat.

Mercy Itimi doubled their lead three minutes into the second half, and she added her second goal to give her a hat trick in the 58th.

The Nigerian squad will now compete against Group A champions AS FAR Ladies of Morocco on Wednesday in Rabat.

Against the other hand, Group A runners-up Simba Queens of Tanzania will take on Group B winners and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa on Wednesday.

In the other Group B game played on Sunday, the South African team destroyed TP Mazembe Ladies of the DR Congo 4-0.

They were able to finish the first round, just like AS FAR Ladies, with a perfect record and the maximum nine points from three games.

The third-place match will also take place in Rabat the day before the competition’s final match, on November 13.
