Another group of 137 Nigerians who were trapped in Libya have been brought to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos, the agency reaffirmed this.
The returnees, according to NEMA, boarded an Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800 and arrived at Ikeja’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport’s Cargo Wing around 5.15 p.m. on Monday.
NEMA said that there were 80 men, 52 women, and three newborns among the returnees.
On behalf of the Federal Government, Mr. Mustapha Ahmed, Director-General of NEMA, welcomed the returnees and urged them to take lessons from their experiences and uphold the law.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, Coordinator, Agency’s Lagos Territorial Office, acted as Ahmed’s representative.
Since January, about 3,000 Nigerians have been rescued from Libya.
542 stranded Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were also brought to NEMA on Sunday.
