On 19th July 2020, Chidubem Onyejemuo tweeted:
“If we had sense in this country…
These two would be President and Vice president…”
When Chidubem Ukamaka Onyejemuo tweeted this on the day, there were no responses, no re-tweets, and no likes.
But the tweet resurfaced after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, announced his running mate for the 2023 general elections, a former federal lawmaker, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed.
With side-by-side photos of Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed, the tweet has sparked a lot of fervour on Nigerian Twitter. Some have called Chidubem, a prophet, and have asked her to make further predictions. Others have called her a liar. And others have asked her to make personal predictions for them.
Chidubem, trying to establish that she is no prophet or clairvoyant, has taken the time to explain that the tweet came after she had watched and listened to Senator Datti Baba Ahmed speak at the 2019 PDP primaries, where Peter Obi was running as Vice, and he for president, she said only both men stood out for her as they sounded a lot like each the other.
In reaction to the tweet, a commenter said “We’re easily deceived in Naija. No one ever thought why there’s no single RT, like, or reply to the tweet dating back to 2020 in the comments section”
Another commenter said “Another 8 years of our lives are on the line. I pray we have sense this time.”
While some are asking if they would find love or get married, others believe this is indeed a prophecy from God.
Chidubem went further to state how hard it would be for these two men to be at the helm of affairs as Nigeria celebrates mediocrity.
Following from her 2020 tweet, in April 2022, she tweeted the duo again with the caption “We want a new Nigeria!”
The candidates with their combined extensive educational and professional career pedigree as well as their vast knowledge in economics are believed to be what Nigeria needs at a time like this.
The tweet of 2020 and her recent tweet of April 2022 have gained Chidubem a lot of new followers as many wish to see her make more predictions.
Whether the two candidates make it or not, Chidubem has already tweeted that it would be a tough one for them. Nonetheless, she has pundit-ed right that the two men would be candidates to watch out for.
