Nigeria COVID19 infections cross 15,000 mark

Nigeria now has over 15,000 COVID19 novel coronavirus infections.

In its latest report, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that Nigeria has 15,181 confirmed COVID19 cases.

Of this number, 4891 cases have been discharged and 399 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory

627 new confirmed cases were reported on Friday, while 12 fresh deaths were recorded in Nigeria

The breakdown of the new cases is as follows:

Lagos(229), FCT(65), Abia(54), Borno(42), Oyo(35), Rivers(28), Edo(28), Gombe(27), Ogun(21), Plateau(18), Delta(18), Bauchi(10), Kaduna(10), Benue(9), Ondo(8), Kwara(6), Nasarawa(4), Enugu(4), Sokoto(3), Niger(3), Kebbi(3), Yobe(1), Kano(1).

No new state reported a case within the last 24 hours.

From the latest figures, Lagos now has 6,840 confirmed cases, 5,621 of which are still active with 82 total deaths.

Nationwide, a total of 88,432 tests have been carried out; 3,058 carried out on Thursday alone.
