The Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) has revealed that 32 new COVID19 cases have been confirmed.
In a tweet on 17th April 2020 at 11.18 pm it revealed that the total confirmed cases in Lagos was now 286 as against 283 reported by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The LSMOH also revealed that one more COVID-19 death had been recorded.
This brings to 11, the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos State.
It advised Lagos State citizens to observe the stay-at-home directive in order to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission
The NCDC in a tweet revealed that there were now fifty-one new cases of the COVID19 nationwide.
In its latest tweet on the COVID-19 coronavirus, it revealed that of this number, three were in Lagos, six in Kano, five in Kwara, two in FCT, two in Oyo, two in Katsina, one in Ogun and one in Ekiti.
As at 10:10 pm on 17th April there were 493 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Nigeria. 159 have been discharged while there have been 17 deaths nationwide.
A breakdown shows that the number of states with confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus are now 19 with FCT.
Lagos recorded 283, FCT 69, Kano 27, Osun 20, Edo 15, Oyo 15, Ogun 10, Kwara nine, Katsina nine, Bauchi six, Kaduna six, Akwa Ibom six, Delta four, Ondo three, Ekiti three, Enugu two, Rivers two, Niger two, Benue one and Anambra one.
As at 6:00 pm 17th April 2020, 7153 samples have been tested for the COVID-19 coronavirus in Nigeria.
The NCDC said they were working very hard to increase the number of samples tested, including community surveillance in the FCT and Lagos.
