Fire breaks out at Canadian High Commission in Abuja

A section of the Canadian High Commission in Abuja was engulfed in flames on Monday, causing a stir and raising concerns. The incident occurred at the high commission’s location on 13010G, Palm Close, Diplomatic Drive, in the heart of Abuja’s Central Business District, around 11:45 a.m.

As of the time of this report, the exact cause of the fire remains uncertain. Eyewitnesses at the scene speculated that the fire might have originated from an explosion at the embassy’s power-generating plant. The billowing dark smoke from the high commission’s white building raised the alarm and prompted the swift evacuation of staff and vehicles from the premises.

The Canadian High Commission in Abuja offers various services, including visa and immigration assistance for individuals intending to visit or move to Canada.
