LASEMA, State Fire Service battle Kairo Market Fire outbreak

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported it has been able to put out a fire that broke out at Kairo Market, Oshodi.

According to LASEMA, its Eagle Squad and Fire Unit responded to a fire outbreak at Kairo Market, Oshodi, at about 8:15pm, Thursday, 6th May, 2021.

In a statement it issued on Thursday, it said that upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that some key klamp shops were engulfed by fire.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of issuing the statement.

The statement reported no record of loss of lives but goods worth a huge fortune, the full extent, which was not reported, was lost to the inferno.

The fire was subsequently put out and prevented from escalating any further with the dampening of the embers with the efforts of the LASEMA Response Team, its Fire Unit and Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
