It is no fluke! The Lagos COVID19 new numbers are dropping

Lagos recorded its first sub-50 number of new COVID19 cases in over four weeks as it reported 38 fresh cases on Sunday almost matching the number of discharged patients of 31.

Testing stayed close to 2,000 daily tests across the country on Saturday.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reports that so far 76,802 tests have been carried out nationwide.

There is no official explanation of the Lagos COVID19 new case statistics but it could be attributed to either the reluctance of the vulnerable population to testing or that testing is just not adequate.

Ominously, there is still the fear of rising numbers owing to disregard for social distancing rules as prescribed by the Lagos State government.
